Steam Surf

In this photo of my Second Life avatar, she balances rather precariously atop a half-finished mechanical wonder. I wanted to highlight the working gears in the glassed-in engine beneath my avatar's feet. In the game, those cogs all spin and the pistons actually pump. I also wanted to draw attention to the way the water outside influences the view inside, so my avatar kind of points to the wall, the highly reflective surface of which is distorted and clouded by the light that filters in through windows like the one pictured above.

Again, because the game allows customization of light and color settings before the photo is ever taken, post processing was a breeze. All I really had to do was crop. In terms of composition, I tried to use an implied "L" form to structure the piece.

Second Life is owned by Linden Labs, LLC. The in-game content is owned by the creators of that content. All I own is the photo. Otherwise, I'd share it with you guys and let you use it as stock.
